Citizenship by Marriage to a Polish Citizen

Foreign nationals married to a Polish citizen may apply for citizenship if they meet specific conditions:

  • They have been married for at least 3 years.
  • They have resided legally in Poland for at least 2 years on the basis of a permanent residence permit, long-term EU resident permit or right of permanent residence.

Citizenship by Long-Term Stay

Applicants can also apply if they:

  • Have resided legally in Poland for at least 3 years on a permanent residence permit or long-term resident permit, or
  • Have resided for 10 years under certain conditions.
